Blackfriar's People June - James Kerr - james182kerr@btinternet.com
Hi Gordon, I was looking in the secondhand bookshop in Bridge of Allan when I found a book called George Square, Glasgow written by Thomas Sommerville M.A. of Blackfriars Parish. I wonder if you could give me some information on the author. It is a very interesting book about the statues in the Square and their lives, it is also a presentation copy to a Mr. W. F. Anderson and is dated 1899. If you have any info on him this would be great, also was there a Commercial Street in Dennistoun at the turn of the century? I look forward to your reply, Regards, James Kerr |
