Colvin & McGee May, 2005 - Gerard Kerr - GLKERR@bigpond.com
Hello My name is Gerard Kerr and I am in Australia. This is for my family tree. Thank you very much for the history lesson. My grandparents and the 8 children were listed in the 1881 census. This is a stepping stone and hopefully will assist me in understanding what it was like in Shettleston in the 1880's My grandmother Elizabeth Colvin married Patrick Kerr in on 26th October 1909 at St Pauls in Shettleston in Scotland. They were married by Fr Daniel Colvin, who was listed as RC Clergyman. He was Elizabeth's brother. She died at Riverstone, NSW, Australia in 1922 aged 39 years. Her father was Daniel Colvin born approx in the 1840’s and died 5th June 1917 at Lightburn, Shettleston aged 73 years. Her mother was Margaret McGee born approx in the 1840’s and died 26th September 1905 at Lightburn, Shettleston aged 57 years. Daniel Colvin & Margaret McGhee were married 29 November 1860 at Shettleston, Lanark, Scotland. I wonder if you can give me all the parish priests from St Paul's. I found a similar list for St Josephs. What is the history of St Paul's? I also know the Daniel Colvin married Thomas Colvin and Helen Donnelly on 14th July 1910 at St Pauls in Shettleston. He died on 8th December 1951 at Weir St Coatbridge. He was listed as a Canon Of the Roman Catholic Church.
