Police History

December, 2007 - Thomas Wylie - t.wylie@ntlworld.com

Hi there,

I am trying to trace my great great great great grandfather one
Thomas Wylie  who was born around 1805 in the Parish of Barony. He later married and lived in Millroad Street. On a death certificate of his father, Thomas is listed as A Police Constable (deceased) this was in 1890.

I am assuming he was a member of Calton Burgh Police, Bridgeton Burgh Police or The City of Glasgow Police between 1820 - 1840 ish.

Can you throw any light on this?

I am obliged

Thomas Wylie G G G G Grandson (retired policeman)
